Which networks should I join?
Do you have a small business that you are tying to immerse in social media? It can be quite a daunting task to determine where to begin.
Facebook is probably the most prominent social media network out there. With over 900 million active users, there is bound to be an existing or future customer waiting to interact with your small business. Creating a Facebook business page is the first step to success.
Pinterest is a fast-growing online network that is great for visual brands. Interaction is achieved by “pinning” a photo or graphic from a website, or repinning someone’s exisiting “pin.” What you pin can go viral, so be sure to get in on this growing marketing outlet.
There is some debate about the importance of Twitter in the future online marketing, but I think it is here to stay. Customers rely on Twitter to receive information FAST, and businesses constantly cross-promote each other to their followers. There is really no losing with Twitter, unless you post boring or inappropriate content. Think before you tweet!
Some people are just waiting for Google+ to fall flat on its face and into Facebook’s shadow, but I happen to love it! Creating a Google+ business profile, posting updates, and utilizing photo descriptions will instantly improve your search engine optimization.
Which social media networks are you already a part of? Creating all these profiles sounds like a chore, but it is worth the effort in the end.
